Messerchmitt Bf 109 G6 Wrnr. 26129

Build at Erla Maschinenwerk G.M.B.H. (Werk 1, Leipzig) in a bloc of production of 135 aircraft assembled between August en September 1943. This aircraft received the code RV+IS and was delivered as Black 3 to the IV Gruppe (11. Staffel) JG54, when this unit was based at Dorpat, near Pskov, on the Russian front. The aircraft was lost on January 14th, 1944 after being shot at the west of lake Swibo (near Estonia). The pilot, Uffz. Eberhard Wollmann (born on April 16th, 1920 at Reibersdorf) was killed during the forced landing. . The wreck was discovered in the years 90 and transported in Europe by Jim Pearce. The fuselage is currently in Belgium for restoration.

It is interesting to note that this particular machine was part of a production bloc comprizing Bf109 G5 (pressurised) and Bf109G6 (unpressurised). It means the G6 from this particular include some differences with other G6 produced elsewhere.
